Welcome to 4th Year (hell) 21/9/11
Honours Project - Question (will be put up when ready), ideas, thought processes and topics looking at studying and researching Mise en Scene as a film technique and the corralation with audio on film. How does the use of audio and other characteristics effect audiences involvement viewing a film or particular scene.
The first days have been daunting to say the least heading into the academic year and what is expected. Already having a idea of what I want my project to be has been helpful and the first few lectures have helped me realise what I still have to do in terms of defining and refining what I want to research for the year to come.
So far I have had introduction lectures in 3 of the 5 modules for the year. They have been for Professional Practice, Research and Development and Pre-Production. All have offered different insights for me and have been helpful already.
Informal Meeting with Peter O'Hare
Just had a short meeting with Peter O'Hare about my Idea for my project. Very informal but very helpful. The first of the tutors opinions I have asked, also planning to set up a short meeting with Kenny for a chat to gauge his response on my potential project.
At the moment running with the idea of researching into Mise en Scene with audio as the main research characteristic is as Peter suggested such a vast topic that would take forever to cover and whilst it would be very interesting it'd be very difficult.
Trying to hone in on similar topics and what they can offer as a project too is what Pete suggested. Such as using certain directors, certain films or genre of films. This helps narrow down the potential research areas, help gather data that would also lead to being more specific data and help me come to a better conclusion.
